Hey everyone! AgentOne Desktop version 0.0.16 was just released. Below is a list of the big changes:
Highlights
- New: Introducing the AgentOne Blog. Release notes, future updates, tutorials, and more will be shared here. Check it out!
- Fixed a bug where chat cost tracking could use the wrong model after switching models and regenerating a response.
- Cost tracking has been rebuilt around per-message AI SDK usage metadata. Chat cost is now calculated from the generated messages themselves instead of stale chat-level totals.
- Fixed some issues with extensions not starting properly.
- Extensions’ tools now support customizable display labels for different operational states (loading, completion, error), so they’re more user-friendly.
- Added support for GPT-5.5.
- The desktop app will detect when it’s installed via Flatpak, Snap, or the AUR package and not bother you with automatic update notices, as they are managed by your software manager or package manager and not AgentOne.
Miscellaneous Changes
- Old beta chat cost-tracking data is not preserved in this release. Existing chats may show missing or reset cost usage until they generate new assistant messages.
- Cleaned up unused database columns related to the old chat-level cost tracking approach.
- Refactored loading UI with improved visual consistency across the application.
- Enhanced tool operation messaging for better visibility of tool states.
- Added new models and extensions.
- Updated the Help & Updates section to include links to the docs, Discord server, and bug report form.
- Updated app dependencies for a faster and more secure experience.
